Post Hackintosh
Hey there, ok well the problem i am having at the moment is that i'm trying to install a triple boot for a client, they want XP Pro, Vista Business and OSX. The problem i'm having isn't the boot loader or partitions it just getting the OSX to install and work correctly, so far i've been using Iatkos i5 10.5.5 and it says that it installs correctly but when i reboot with the cd in it gives me a restart error and if i reboot and take the disk out it gives me nothing but the apple logo background.

I think it has something to do with the EHCI or ACPI because i get errors like:

  1. USBF: 1.244

  2.    EHCI unable to take full control from bios

  3.    AppleUSBEHCI[0x3aa9800] : unable to obtain ownership

or when i'm installing it has a lot of this sort of error

  1. Skipping duplicate extension "Com.apple.driver.applePCIconfigurator"

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

A friend of mine informs me that its a kernel issue.
Press F8 and -v at the prompt and take a look at the final error message.

If it says still waiting for root device its likely a kernel issue.

We're going to need the specs to help any further than guessing.
Thanks.

Also, moving to Mac.

i have read online that for it to boot to osx you have to keep the dvd in the disc tray. i dont know if that is still true but you might try that

No worries will put it up when i get back to the office(onsite atm) but i should mention that this is very much hardware specific, you should get away with some differences except for the mobo.
